Weekend madness!

West Coast Flower Wow

This past weekend, in Cape Town, was an absolutely beautiful one!  We felt real heat for the first time in ages.  I had heard so much about the amazing flowers up our West coast, but had never been to see them in bloom.

In the spring-time, in the West Coast National Park, the strandveld is embroidered with a tapestry of natural, multi-hued flowers.  I decided that it was high-time that I went to see them for myself.

It was a little chaotic, as I think many people had the same idea as us, and were also heading to the Park.  We should have left Cape Town earlier in the morning.  We wished the aircon in our car had not broken. That the traffic had not been so hectic and that my special friend had not missed her flight back to Joburg!  But you be the judge, and look at the pictures below to decide if it was all worth it? I most definitely think it was!
